Finance
Q. Can we finance in our company name?
A. We have one bank that will finance companies, but the rate may be a little higher and you may need to personally co-sign.
Q. Is a down payment required?
A. Many RV loans require as little as ZERO down payment, but sometimes due to credit rating issues they might require one.
Q. What are the terms?
A. RV loans typically range from 60 months to 240 months. Age of the RV can play a factor in this.
Q. Can we finance parts in our loan – like a generator?
A. Oftentimes that can be arranged.
Q. Can I finance an RV with bad credit?
A. It’s possible, but you may face higher interest rates and may be required to make a larger down payment. Some lenders specialize in RV loans for buyers with less than perfect credit.
Q. What interest rates can I expect?
A. Rates vary depending on your credit profile, the loan term, and whether the RV is new or preowned. When special rates are offered they are also subject to approved credit.
Q. Can I pay out my RV loan early?
A. Yes! All RV loans are Conditional Sales Contracts which allow you to make extra payments or pay out your loan in full.
Q. Can I finance through my bank?
A. Dealers often have partnerships with lenders and can often offer more competitive rates than you dealing with the bank directly. However, you are always welcome to explore your options.
Q. What credit score is needed to finance an RV?
A. There are many factors that contribute to a lenders willingness to approve any application. Sometimes your credit score alone is not enough to guarantee an approval. Most lenders look for a credit score of 650 or higher, but some may accept scores as low as 600 with higher interest rates.
Sales
Q. Do you deliver?
A. Yes, we do deliveries. Often an RV is going to a permanent site and the buyer does not have a suitable tow vehicle. Price is determined by location. Sometimes, local deliveries can be included in the purchase at no charge
Q. Do you charge extra fees?
A. No. We have no additional fees other than GST.
Q. Is there a best time of the year to purchase?
A. With our volume buying and strong manufacturer relationships, were able to offer large savings and transparent pricing year-round.
Q. Do you offer storage?
A. Generally speaking no. We have however sometimes included “free winter storage” at time of sale in some off-season purchases such as the Calgary RV show In January.
Q. What kind of warranty is available?
A. Warranty of a new RV is through the manufacturer. We will aid our customers in getting warranty repairs at any approved location in Canada and the US. Preowned RV’s within 10 years of the current model year will come with a 30-day limited warranty. We also offer extended warranty options on all new and most preowned RV’s.
Q. What kind of inspections are done?
A. Motorized RV’s have two inspections. The first is a mechanical fitness assessment which will relate to the chassis. The second is a predelivery inspection which will focus more on the “RV” side of things. Ie appliances etc. Towable RV’s will receive the ladder of the two inspections.
Q. How does your high-volume low margin pricing work?
A. Rather than selling at “MSRP” or slightly below, we start from cost, make sure our expenses are covered and leave room for a modest profit.
Service
Q. How often should wheel bearings be repacked?
A. Annually or every 20,000 kms. Whichever comes first.
Q. How often should slide out seals and slide running gear be serviced?
A. Twice per year. Every spring and every fall.
Q. How often should roof and exterior seals be inspected and maintained?
A. Minimum twice per year. Every spring and every fall.
Q. When should my tires be replaced?
A. End of tread bar life indicated by tread wear bars. Also, when they are showing side wall cracking or cracking in between threads. Finally, if the edges of the tires are badly worn due to alignment issues or over and/or under inflation issues.
Q. How often should I check my tire pressures?
A. Before every trip.
Q. How often should I check my wheel torque?
A. Before every trip, and after 100kms if wheel has been off for any reason.
Q. How often should I check my RV for propane leaks?
A. Annually
Q. How do I store my battery for the winter?
A. Remove it and store it in a heated garage or basement and connected to a battery maintainer. Do not leave on unit in winter storage as a discharged battery will freeze, damage the battery internals and possibly split the case.
Q. What do solar panels do?
A. Charges the battery.
Q. What does an inverter do?
A. It takes 12-volt battery power and inverts it to 120-volt AC voltage.
Q. What does a converter do?
A. It converts 120-volt AC to 12-volt DC power to run the items in the RV.
Q. Are roof vent covers like Max-Air’s a good investment?
A. Yes. They serve multiple purposes like allowing you to leave your roof vents open when you are travelling, when its raining or when its parked in storage. Another purpose is it protects your roof vents from hail damage.
Q. Can I use awning during rain and wind?
A. It is always recommended to close your awning during rain or wind and when you go to bed or leave your camp site.
Q. Does my RV have to be level to operate my fridge?
A. Yes the unit needs to be level front to back and side to side for the fridge to operate properly.
Q. Is it good to cover my RV with a tarp when its in storage?
A. No. Never use a tarp to cover your unit as when the wind blows it will rub the finish off of your RV. There are proper RV covers available in the aftermarket.

Q. What do dehumidifiers do?
A. Absorb moisture out of the air which helps preserve the interior of your RV which is very important during the winter months.
Q. What is a good toilet chemical to use for black tank maintenance?
A. Tank Blaster
Q. Can I use regular toilet paper for my RV?
A. No. Always use RV toilet paper as it is designed to dissolve faster to prevent clogs from building up inside your holding tank.
Q. What product is good to use on my slide room seals?
A. Seal Saver rubber seal conditioner by Directline or Camco RV Rubber Seal Conditioner.
Q. What is a good cleaner/conditioner for rubber roof maintenance?
A. Walex Rubber Roof Cleaner and Conditioner or Dicor Rubber Roof Cleaner and Conditioner.
Q. What is good to use for lubricating stabilizer jacks and steps?
A. A dry lubricant like silicone spray as it won’t attract dirt and dust. Do not use any grease or oils.
Q. Should I use a surge protector?
A. Yes. A surge protector will protect your electrical systems.
Q. What is a good battery set up for dry camping?
A. 2 – 6 volt batteries.
Q. What is a good wireless rear view camera?
A. Furrion or Voyageur
Q. What is a good product to put in your RV for mice control when stored?
A. Rodent away or Mouse Free under coating spray.
Q. What is a good product to clean and sanitize my fresh water tank?
A. Spring Fresh by Camco.
Q. How often should I change the water filter in my RV?
A. Start every camping season with a new water filter and if your RV is used more than average, replace it again half way through the season.
Q. Are tire covers a good idea when the RV is in storage?
A. Yes, covering the tires when the unit is not in use protects your tires from harsh UV rays.
Consignment
Q. Why consign at Guarantee RV?
A. Guarantee RV has the largest consignment program in Alberta and the largest preowned inventory in Alberta. We offer financing, warranty (depending on the age of the unit) and thorough inspections prior to delivery.
Q. How does your consignment program work?
A. We mutually agree to a number of how much you’ll get once the RV sells. We take care of all the costs including marketing, advertising, Amvic mechanical assessment, predelivery inspection, staging and showing of the RV
Q. How long is a consignment agreement?
A. The standard agreement is 90 days. Depending on the time of season, if your camper is not sold in that period of time, you can extend the agreement with a simple phone call or email.
Q. What about my insurance?
A. You will leave your insurance on your RV until it sells. You will take your license plate home with you the day you drop it off. Should a vehicle go on a test drive, we use one of our dealer plates.
Q. How long will it take to sell my RV?
A. Often times we have a deposit on the RV before it even gets here as our sales team is in contact daily with customers looking for certain units.
Q. When do I get paid?
A. Three to four business days after the RV is delivered.
Q. What happens is my RV doesn’t sell?
A. This doesn’t happen too often but after the 90-day agreement you can pick it up with 48 hours notice by either phone call or email
